Irony of Fate, or Enjoy Your Bath part 2
To conclude my earlier blog about Irony of Fate, i would like to address how the movie continues to focus on the culture by using the characters to sing songs and play music. This deepens the connections from the audience to the characters and helps give the viewers a taste of their culture. This was really the first film that i have seen in another language and at times i would try to just listen to there voices in Russian instead of just reading the subs. Even though i could understand exactly word for word what they were saying, i could figure it out and it was a very different experience.

I think I know what you mean--but how is it that you think the music deepens the audience's connections to the characters. What is it specifically about music in general or the music that we hear in this film here that does that?
ReplyDeleteThe lyrics were definitely relatable on a human's emotions when we experience life in general, such as love. I think that is how Nadya and Zhenya were able to fall in love in the short amount of time because they understood each other very well since they were in a similar situation. In my opinion, The meaning of the songs and the overall theme of the movie is to let go in the past, show your true self, and live in the moment for the new year.
